When I started reaching out to hospitals and Foundations I was made aware of the challenges of Covid in accepting donations.   It was important to me that the gowns that I was creating were safe for kids that were getting treatments in the hospital.  I began brainstorming and researching ways that I could clean these gowns so they were safe of germs.  I thought about washing them myself at home. Then I thought about getting them dry cleaned. Then in my google research I came across Healthcare Laundry Specialists.  I was happy to learn that there were companies that cleaned hospital linens such as scrubs, sheets, hospital gowns and lab coats for hospitals.  I searched for a company near me that was located in New Jersey.   Image First Health Care Laundry Specialists came up first in my search! They were one of the largest in the country!  I asked my mom to help me reach out to them on an online inquiry form.  I was shocked when she told me that same evening that they replied to the form with an email right away!  They were eager to help and loved my project!  They offered to donate their services and clean, sanitize and seal my hospital gowns!  They even took me on a tour of their facility!  They wrote an article about me - see the link below!
